Gateshead Visible Ethnic Minority Support Group (GVEMSG) and GemArts bring you another fantastic evening of music, food and fun at the annual Diwali Celebrations. Popularly known as the "festival of lights", Diwali is an important time in Hinduism, Sikhism and Jainism, celebrated worldwide. Traditional Diwali celebrations signify the triumph of good over evil.
Join us at this year’s festivities and enjoy delicious Indian food, entertainment from regional performers, DJ’s spinning the very best Bhangra and Bollywood tunes and space to show off your best moves on the dance floor. An event for young and old alike. Look out for raffle prizes, henna artists, face painting and other opportunities to have fun while raising money for valuable charitable work celebrating diversity and helping people in Gateshead.
You can support our work by making an online donation here. Each £1 we raise can be matched with a further £1 donation from Arts Council England, helping us double your generous gift, creating even more opportunities for people to experiene and enjoy the benefits of arts and culture from around the world and keeping our events accesible for all.
