Artist Development
GemArts understand the demand for professional development, training and network support for culturally diverse artists attempting to develop their practice. In response to this demand, we developed the Creative Associates programme which works to support emerging and mid-career artists.

- engages with artists whose work reflects creative and cultural diversity
- supports artists to develop work/practice of the highest quality
- contributes to the debate surrounding the development needs of artists, particularly those from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic backgrounds
- provides the conditions for artistic reflection
- ensures consideration to the long term sustainability of Creative Associates is at the heart of the programme
- fosters a culture of peer learning between artists and colleagues working within, and beyond, the region
The GemArts Creative Associates programme can include training, mentoring, residences and commissions, and we would be delighted to discuss ways in which GemArts can support exciting new projects and mentor artists as they develop thier work.
