In Feb -Mar 2020 GemArts and Durham University’s Musicon Concert Series jointly promoted a three day festival, ‘Indian Spring Colours’. The concerts were recorded, and this performance is Chiranjeeb Chakraborty’s presentation of the thumri ‘Nayna more taras gaye’ (by the great twentieth-century singer Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan), which evokes the monsoon season.
In Feb -Mar 2020 GemArts and Durham University’s Musicon Concert Series jointly promoted a three day festival, ‘Indian Spring Colours’. This is a recording of the Apoorva Gokhale performing ‘Ranga bhari’, by the legendary 16th-century poet and Krishna devotee, Meerabai. This poem describes the joy of playing holi, the spring festival of colours, with Krishna.
