FAST: Families Are Special Together
This project took place in the Scotswood area of Newcastle upon Tyne. Artist Carl Rossetti worked with young people from the area on a project inspired by graffiti art. The aim was to create a new mural for St. Peters Church in Cowgate to replace the old one which the participants felt was now outdated and old fashioned. Over a series of workshops the young people built skills in design and illustration, drawing, spray painting, and badge making to create their own works of graffiti art on canvas. The finished mural included character representations of the participants in the style of graffiti and urban art and was presented at a family day to celebrate the outcomes of the project.
