Arts Award & Artsmark
At GemArts we are committed to offering everyone the opportunity to experience high quality arts activity. Part of this committment is in evaluating all sessions to ensure we build upon successes, and allow those taking part to feel ownership of projects. As part of our commitment to high quality arts activity, GemArts support young people in achieving Arts Award, and work alongside schools to ahieve and sustain Artsmark status.
Arts Award offers five levels of certificate, so that children and young people aged up to 25 can explore any art form including performing arts, visual arts, literature, media and multimedia and work towards a recognised qualification as recognition of their hard work. The award builds confidence, helps young people to enjoy cultural activities, and can prepare them for further education or employment. As a registered Arts Award centre, GemArts can offer young people the opportunity to achieve valuable nationally recoginised accreditation for arts activity they take part in. With qualified Arts Award advisors in our team, and a number of freelance Advisors in our database, GemArts regularly include Arts Award within projects, and work with schools and community groups to use this framework to achieve accrediation for particpants. With a successfully completed Gold Arts Award portfolio carrying up to 35 UCAS points, young people can work towards accreditation which could have a really positive impact on their future, and help them secure a place at University.
Each year GemArts also supports schools through the Artsmark process, including helping schools to progress through levels or maintain their Artsmark status. Artsmark is Arts Council England’s flagship programme to enable schools and other organisations to evaluate, strengthen and celebrate their arts and cultural provision. Through high quality participatory arts activity GemArts offer opportunities to achieve and maintain this nationally recognised accreditation, and highlight the great work taking place in regional schools. The new Artsmark system has now launched do get in touch to speak to someone about how GemArts can support and enrich your application.
We recently helped a local primary school achieve Gold Artsmark status, and work regularly to enable local schools to maintain all levels of Artsmark status.
