School Workshop- Chinese Characters
Chinese Characters
Explore the practice and tradition of Chinese calligraphy with a creative classroom workshop
The use of ink in Chinese calligraphy and illustration gives learners a great opportunity to explore language and illustrative character design. Students can make a banner, illustration or print depending on your favoured outcome. Your artist will showcase how to use traditional tools, an introduction to writing Chinese characters and work towards your chosen outcome throughout the course of your workshop.
Workshops can be designed to give students a taste of these different artforms or develop strong skills towards a final product
These workshops can support celebrations of Chinese New Year, International days or art projects
A typical Chinese Characters workshop will last for up to 1 hours for each group, can include up to 30 students per session and can incorporate other curriculum topics being studied.
