Based in Calcutta and London he has perfomed in 40 countries across the globe. With revolutionary contributions to the art of sarod playing, he has energised its performance repertoire with his distinctive style & virtuoso technique, acquiring worldwide following & appraisal.

Royal Northern Sinfonia, Orchestra of Sage Gateshead, is the UK’s only full-time chamber orchestra. Founded in 1958, RNS has built a worldwide reputation for the North East through the quality of its music-making and the immediacy of the connections the musicians make with audiences.

The first half of the concert will be a traditional Indian Classical performance by Ustad Wajahat Khan on sarod with Shahbaz Hussain on tabla.
