Gateshead Visible Ethnic Minorities Support Group (GVEMSG) and GemArts have organised another fantastic party to mark Vaisakhi. Join in the festivities with friends and family, expect plenty of music, delicious food and fun for all ages, including local performers and DJ’s spinning the very best Bhangra and Bollywood tunes. Bring your friends and don’t forget your dancing shoes!

The evening includes fantastic performances from Tohr Panjabian Di Bhangra Dancers from Yorkshire, and Newcastle University's Bollywood Dancers. You don't want to miss the chance to see exceptional dancers bring traditional dance with a modern twist.

2017 marks Gateshead Visible Ethnic Minorities Support Group's 25th Anniversary, and in this time our charity has offered support for people facing multiple barriers, in Gateshead and across the wider region. This year we're asking you to help us raise valuable funds, which will go towards achieving our vision; to create a multi-cultural all-inclusive community, free of fear, prejudice, racism and ignorance. At our Vaisakhi Celebrations look out for raffle prizes, henna artists and other opportunities to have fun while raising money for valuable work with communities.

For each £1 we raise through donations at Vaikashi Celebrations, GemArts will receive a further £1 donation from Arts Council England, helping us double your generous gifts. Donate here.
